My little guy is 9 months old now and he’s reached the stage of his life where he talks in jibberish. He doesn’t speak in real words, but every once in a while, the jibberish will be an actual word, like on accident. What I mean is I don’t think he really knows that I’m his dad. I just think “da da da da da” is easy to say. Anyway, on two separate occasions now, he’s used a real word in the proper context of what was happening around him. First was a couple weeks ago, I said to him “Hey Bud” and he responded immediately in his squeeky little 9 month old voice, “hi”. It was too damn cute. Then over the weekend, I was in the bathroom putting some gel in my hair and he could see me from right outside the door. I looked over at him and I swear, he looked up at me and said “gay”.
So do I put this in his baby book? First word “hi”, second word “gay”? I guess I have to.
